Plíva Prize

PRAHA2026 Plíva prizes will be awarded for the most outstanding oral presentation by a student or young researcher. In order to be eligible for the PRAHA2026 Plíva Prize, a candidate:
  • must be the primary (first) author of the work being presented
  • should assume the sole responsibility for the oral presentation
  • must not be older than 35 years (at the time of the meeting)
  • should either be enrolled in a doctoral programme (at the time of the meeting)
  • or have been awarded the degree within the last 24 months (at the time of the meeting)

Professor Josef Plíva was a prominent Czech molecular spectroscopist and one of the leading figures of spectroscopy in former Czechoslovakia. He served as the founding president of the Czechoslovak Spectroscopic Society and made significant contributions to high-resolution molecular spectroscopy. His scientific achievements and dedication to the spectroscopic community continue to inspire new generations of researchers.

Students or young researchers who want to submit their talk into the competition for the PRAHA2026 Plíva Prize should indicate this intention by selecting the appropriate option during the abstract submission.
